These new 26 episodes that were announced today in this article are AFTER the 14 already slotted!

It was all a bit confusing, so let me try and make it easier to understand.

• Season 1, Book 1 (which recently finished airing on Nickelodeon) has 12 episodes
• Season 1, Book 2 (airing in 2013) is slotted for 14 episodes
• Season 2 (air date not confirmed) is the new 26 episodes

This, technically, means there is a season three, since we have been referring to Book 2 as Season 2 this whole time. The author of the EW article was a bit confusing, and he made it clear on his Twitter.

So instead of looking forward to 14 episodes, we get to look out for 40 episodes!

That’s right, folks!

InsideTV posted an article today stating that Nickelodeon has officially sent order for season two of Legend of Korra!  We knew before that there would be another season, but we only heard that there would be fourteen episodes. Now that season one of LOK has ended, averaging 3.8 million viewers, Nickelodeon has ordered a full length season consisting of 26 episodes.

The show is set to return in 2013!
